Frequently Asked Questions

The IB Psychology SL Questionbank is a comprehensive set of IB-style questions for papers 1, 2, & 3. Some questions are IB exam-style questions, which can easily be distinguished as they are marked out of 9 for short answer questions or out of 22 for extended responses. Other questions are IB-style questions that would not appear on an exam. These questions help to build your knowledge, skills and understanding so that you are better prepared to answer IB exam-style questions. These questions are usually marked out of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 10 marks.

Paper 1 questions are separated by each approach (cognitive, biological, and sociocultural) and then organised further by topic and content. Paper 2 questions are separated by each option abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, health psychology, and psychology of human relationships). Within each topic, questions are sorted by difficulty. The questions are accompanied by high-quality mark schemes and sample answers, many of which include a video explanation.

The IB Psychology HL Questionbank is designed to help IB students build their knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare them to answer IB exam-style questions. It then allows them to practice Psychology HL exam-style questions for a specific topic or concept. Therefore, a good place to start is by identifying a concept that you would like to practice and improve on and go to that area of the Psychology HL Questionbank. If you need to build your knowledge of a topic before answering an exam-style question, you could start with questions marked out of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 10. If you have reviewed the material and are ready to tackle an exam-style question, you could attempt one of the questions marked out of 9 (SAQ) or 22 (ERQ).

You can filter questions by type (i.e., SAQ, MCQ, ERQ). If you just want SAQs and ERQs, you can click on both, and only these two question types will be displayed. Additionally, questions of all difficulty levels can be displayed simultaneously, or you can choose to display one difficulty type at a time.
