Psychology-2027 IA Resources
The Revision Village Psychology IA Resources Are Here!
The Revision Village Psychology IA Resources guide you through every stage of planning and writing your IA as a hypothetical research proposal, from choosing a suitable real-world problem and population of interest to developing your research methodology, planning how your data could be collected and analyzed, and considering the potential implications of your proposed investigation.
Each module breaks the IA into manageable steps, with clear guidance and interactive activities. Every section of each assessment criterion also includes an annotated high-scoring exemplar, helping you see exactly what strong work looks like and how the assessment requirements can be addressed in practice.
What We Currently Offer
Start with a quick overview of the IA, then work through criteria A and B step by step. Along the way, you will find examples, activities, and flashcards at key points to help you practice important skills, recognize common mistakes, and distinguish between stronger and weaker approaches.
Every section also includes an annotated high-scoring exemplar, so you can see what strong IA writing looks like and understand how the relevant assessment requirements are addressed.

IA Overview
A brief overview of the main IA requirements, criteria, and FAQs.

Introduction
Step-by-step guide to planning and writing the Introduction (criteria A).

Research Methodolgy
Step-by-step guide to planning and writing Criteria B.

Exemplars
Full annotated exemplar IAs for all four research methods.
What Will You Find in These Modules?
- Step-by-step Guidance
Work through each component of the IA in manageable stages, with clear explanations that help you understand what each section requires and guide you through the decisions you need to make before applying them to your own investigation.

- Activities and Flashcards
Apply what you have learned through activities and targeted flashcards included at key points throughout the Bootcamp. These give you opportunities to practice important skills, recognize common mistakes, and distinguish between stronger and weaker approaches.
Go to the “Recognizing the Characteristics of a Strong Aim” section and work through the flashcard deck below:
- Annotated Exemplars for Every Section
Every section of each assessment criterion includes a high-scoring annotated exemplar. The annotations highlight the features that make the response effective and show how specific parts of the writing address the assessment requirements.
This means you can see what strong work looks like at each stage before applying what you have learned to your own IA.

- Method-Specific Support
Compare the four research methods available for your IA and decide which one is most appropriate for investigating your real-world problem. Once you have chosen your method, follow the dedicated guidance to help you plan your investigation and justify the key procedural decisions you make.
Method-specific guidance is provided for experiments, interviews, observations, and surveys/questionnaires.
- Complete High-Scoring Exemplars
See how all the different components of the IA come together in a complete, annotated, high-scoring exemplar. This allows you to move beyond looking at individual sections and see how a strong IA works as a whole.
How to Use the Psychology IA Resources
The Resources are designed to be used alongside your IA.
- You can work through each relevant section, then apply what you have learned to your own investigation before moving on to the next stage.
- You can work through from beginning to end, or use individual modules as standalone resources whenever you need extra help with a particular part of your IA.
This flexibility means you can use the Bootcamp throughout the IA process and return to individual modules whenever you need additional guidance.
Coming Soon
We are expanding the Psychology IA Resources and adding to it:
- Two new modules: Data Collection & Discussion.
- Complete, annotated, high-scoring exemplars using the other research methods.
- A growing collection of videos to provide extra guidance at key stages of the process.
Stay tuned!
