Frequently Asked Questions

Revision Village has created three types of IB Economics SL Real World Examples: Full-Length Exam-Style Questions, Full-Length Topic Specific Questions, and Focused Topic Specific Questions. Each of the Economics SL Data Response Question types has a different purpose, depending on your aims and stage of exam revision. The Economics SL Focused Topic Specific Questions are designed for students who want to test themselves on a specific part of the syllabus. They are shorter than full-length questions and can be completed in a shorter study session. The Economics SL Full-Length Topic Specific Questions are designed to cover specific Economics SL concepts and are useful for developing Paper 2 skills throughout the two-year course. The Economics SL Full-Length Exam-Style Questions are designed to simulate actual IB Economics Higher Level exam papers in their length, difficulty, and composition of concepts.

Focused Topic Specific Questions are one of the three types of IB Economics SL Real World Examples that Revision Village offers. These Data Response Questions target specific concepts in the Economics SL course (e.g. Government Intervention) and range from 20 to 45 minutes in length; perfect for a single study session. The Economics SL-Focused RWEs explore a specific Real World Example. Examples are cited so students can strengthen their knowledge of RWEs as is required in Paper 1. The Focused RWEs are structured in the style of Paper 2.

Revision Village has created a specific type of Economics SL Real World Example to support students and teachers as they progress through the course. The Economics SL Full-Length Topic Specific Questions emulate Paper 2 questions, with one critical difference: they focus on a given part of the curriculum, so they are appropriate for students to take earlier in the course. The Econ SL Full-Length Topic Specific Questions are designed to help students develop the skills they will need for Paper 2 throughout the two-year IB Econ DP course. For example, a student who has not yet studied macroeconomics will be able to practice their data response skills by practising with a microeconomics-focused question.

The Economics SL Full-Length Exam-Style Questions are a set of Economics SL Mock Exam Papers designed to simulate the actual Data Response Questions students will encounter at the end of their IB Economics Higher Level course. These Paper Two Mock Exams should be used once a student has finished learning all of the topics in the Economics SL course. It is recommended that students use the Economics SL Full-Length Exam-Style Data Response Questions under exam conditions to gain familiarity and confidence with the difficulty and time duration of Economics SL exams.
